Unfold Your Love

Won’t be long before we hit the 20th anniversary of George Harrison’s death and what I remember best is the reaction of the receptionist at the office I worked in.

When she heard the news she virtually collapsed and I expect if there hadn’t been a chair nearby she might have ended up on the floor.

I remember checking on her and wondering what sort of connection she had that led to such an extreme reaction.

She wasn’t related to him, but she said she had strong feelings or something like that, I just don’t remember all of the particulars and specifics.

The Uber Battle

Someone is trying to use my auxiliary email address to set up an account with Uber but isn’t having any success getting it activated because they can’t access the emails that Uber sends.

I keep unsubscribing but it magically gets reactivated. I have tried to delete it but Uber won’t do that without the second part of their two step verification, a text message that never reaches me because it is tied to the impostor’s cellphone.

The one time I reached out to Uber to try and get help managing this I found them to be as useful as asking Rudy Giuiliani to prove voter fraud.

Since I’ll never get those 15 minutes back I haven’t bothered to try again, but who knows, I might.

I am usually pretty good at cutting through red tape and making things happen so it kind of irks me I haven’t made it happen here.

But it hasn’t irritated me enough to pay more than cursory attention though I suppose the 15 minutes of email exchange with them has moved it to whatever comes after cursory but before priority.

One of the guys asked me if I thought I could tear down a 6 panel door with nothing but my body and I said I was sure I could.

It is not a solid core door and I am built for destruction so I found myself staring at the master bedroom door, wondering how hard I would have to hit it to tear it right off of the hinges.

Don’t worry, I am not going to try it but not because I fear getting hurt but because it is a waste of money.

But if you ask me if I would rather see if I can knock the door down or get that Uber account deleted the answer is simple–knock down the door.

You never know when you might be required to play superhero and it would be good to have advance knowledge of how much force is required.

I played around with looking up the specs on the door to see if it had anything tied into its testing and durability but decided that was going to make me more interested in testing it out.

Give me a running start, drop, the shoulder, cover up a bit and bam, that door is done.

Epilogue

Looked at an older joint I update here and there and realized I am not sure if the damn stat checker works so I have no idea if I am writing into the void or if anyone is appreciating my work.

Doesn’t make a huge difference because I write as I write where I write regardless, but there is that curiosity.

Made a promise to myself to try to simplify some things and still stumbled into something that will likely be significantly larger than a project from the summer.

That one went sideways because of things I didn’t know to look for and check into but I don’t think that will happen here.

I learned something from that last go around, part of which was to avoid this complexity and yet, here I am.

Didn’t look for it, but won’t run because I can make it work, at least I think I can.

Working damn hard to prove that so, time will tell.

Truth is, I am enjoying figuring it out, so maybe I like the challenge and the complexity more than I realized or maybe it is because someone told me it couldn’t be done and that was enough for me.

The tools and resources exist, you just have to willing to use them and to do a little work to figure out how to make them sing your song.

Here goes nothing.
