More Snow In My City

Grab your ticket and your suitcase
Thunder’s rolling down the tracks
You don’t know where you’re goin’
But you know you won’t be back
Land of Hope and Dreams -Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band

Weatherman says it is going to be cold this weekend and that we might see a day with a high in the low 20s and a low in the single digits.

Some reports say there may be more snow in my city and others say different. The girls from cities in the midwest like Chicago and Cleveland scoff at the snow reports because they consider what we get to be dusting.

Might be true but we are not set up for the cold and if we get enough it will shut things down and cause a little chaos.

Can’t say what we’ll see because the weather in Texas has more personalities than Sybil and changes just as quickly. We could see a 40 degree swing in a day and so you learn to keep a hat, jacket and gloves in the car just in case.

Figured out this past Tuesday this joint isn’t optimized properly for some mobile browsers and wondered if I have been making some people crazy with how poorly it rendered there.

Probably should look into it, but my head has been focused upon other things.

Meet me in a land of hope and dreams
I will provide for you
And I’ll stand by your side
You’ll need a good companion for
This part of the ride
Leave behind your sorrows
Let this day be the last
Tomorrow there’ll be sunshine
And all this darkness past
Big wheels roll through fields
Where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams

Sometimes this aging thing is harder than it ought to be. Sometimes your body rebels in unexpected and surprising ways.

Can’t always figure out the how and why of it because there are times where it acts like we are still in our twenties and moments where there is a full mutiny.

Got irritated with a kink I couldn’t seem to work out and roared in frustration. Didn’t quite realize how loud I was because it made a few people turn their heads.

That made me snort, laughed out loud and shrugged my shoulders.

Shit happens.

No Explanation Is Owed

A man asked me to explain why I like certain things and why I dislike others. I smiled and told him Robert Frost had a good answer for the question.

He asked what that was and I shared the words above.

“What does that mean?”

“Whatever you want it to.”

“That isn’t an answer.”

“Yes, it is. It is my answer.

I am who I am and all that I am is what I am.

Now you can call that a word salad, gibberish or whatever suits you because you are looking for simple. You have no interest in complexity or anything that would require thought.

So let’s accept it at face value because that is enough. Love doesn’t always require a reason other than submitting to a feeling.”
