At The End Of The Day

If I looked through an old email address I am sure I would find some emails that would take me back to what was going on in my life 20 years ago.

I am sure I would see promises made, thoughts and ideas about a future that would one day be here. If I wanted to take you on the journey I could and you would remember…if you chose to.

I think about it sometimes because opportunity comes both when created and when unexpected. Sometimes you miss it the first time and you get another chance to explore it and sometimes you don’t.

How Do You Get Answers

Someone once asked me how to get answers about certain people and who they are. I said you can go off of your gut, but ultimately you need to spend time with them.

Time is where you figure out who they are and who you are. Given how people evolve and change you sometimes need to do that at different points in life to see who you are and who they are.

Sometimes you grow together, sometimes you grow apart.

I suppose you could say some of it is tied to things from The 13th Divorce, but not all.

Sometimes you just write because it is a journey and the point of the journey is to have an adventure. The point is to board your ship and set sail for parts unknown.

You can stay in the harbor and practice your craft if you wish but what you really want generally lies upon the other side of the seawall.

So you either venture across the line and experience life’s offerings or you stay inside the box you create for yourself.

I am not good about staying inside a box, though I have had periods of time in which I intentionally remained inside it.

Sometimes I tell myself I did it out of concern for the impact upon others but I wonder if that is really the truth.

One day the face in the mirror and I will hash that one out. Not because it is emblematic of current circumstances b but because one who wants to know and understand must dig into the hard as well as the soft.
