The Twenty Year Story- The Fire Burns Still

Sometimes the best thing you can do is walk away from your story for a little while and then come back because you see the world in a different way and your story too.

So I did that and when I came back I discovered the fire still burns and decided I would have to put my whole hand in to determine how how the flames are.

Figured I might scream but whether it would be with relief or pain wasn’t known. Could be both, could be neither, who knows.

All that is clear to me is that there are people and places that are forever imprinted upon your heart and you owe it to yourself to dive into those waters and explore.

If you don’t take that time to figure it out you’ll never have the peace-of-mind you either would so you turn on Ring of Fire and listen to the man in the black sing while you head off into the great unknown.

Maybe you still have your north star or maybe you have to search for it, might as well figure it out even if the timing isn’t perfect.

Neil Is Correct

Had a minor procedure done last October but I don’t think it was done correctly and am pretty certain I need to schedule time with the doc to have it redone.

It aggravates me to no end.

Had a moment the other day where I was particularly uncomfortable and tore apart a couple of items because it made me feel better.

Closed my eyes, centered myself and took a few deep breaths and mastered all that was going on but it barely took the edge off.

Why?

Because smarter people don’t fight through the pain when they can do something about it but sometimes I am not nearly as smart as people think I am.

Or maybe I am smarter but so damn stubborn I don’t always make the choice I would advise others to make.

Is that self flagellation part of some personality quirk or something else?

Who knows.

Those who think they can take better care of me have their ideas and well, I have mine.

And mine says I am straddling worlds right now and that for a the moment I have to play Atlas which brings me to the point.

Neil is correct, tomorrow may be hell but if today is a good writing day there is no other joy like it.

That is a special sort of love that continues unbroken even when you can’t figure out how that happen. It just did, it just does and it just will.

Wrapping It Up

Got to focus energy in a different place but not before sharing Bruce’s poem and prayer because so much of it resonates and speaks to something magical.

Who doesn’t want to visit a land of hope and dreams. Who doesn’t want to board a train of faith full of all the kinds of people one might encounter.

Got to travel with the masses and the asses because faith demands a sacrifice of intent and desire along with activity that proves you know enough to make your own luck.

Because faith in faith alone isn’t enough for the people that understand that if a boat is sent to your door during a flood you are required to take a few steps to climb in it.

The source of your salvation isn’t going to magically levitate your butt into a seat. No, it is going to require you take a few steps on your own.

And if you take those steps you will gain the opportunity to reap the reward you worked for, but only if you act on your own behalf.

Write your own story or risk others writing it for you.
