The Power Of Words

You must find your voice.

Sometimes I dig through the files and read through fiction, letters and essays I have written as well as others I have read.

The power of words drive me and I am forever interested in seeing the evolution of my thoughts and experiences upon those words, both those I have written and those I have read.

Sometimes I cringe at the past and sometimes I shake my head and wonder why I didn’t appreciate some things more and remember I am may be who I was but I am also someone other than him too.

Experience.

It is experience.

You don’t know what you don’t know.

Sometimes you don’t better until you have had better or had worse.

You know love that has no bounds but our own limitations. my heart in your hands.

Sometimes I Put Out Reminders

That rogue, Mr. Benimble wrote a few things here and there. He calls it like he sees it.

As I roamed through the files and the kingdom I came across one of those Internet tests, or should I say the results I got from one in 2007.

I liked it enough to keep it, still do.

You’re a pro at going with the flow
You love to kick back and take in everything life
has to offer
A total joy to be around, people crave your
stability.
While you’re totally laid back, you can have bouts
of hyperactivity.
Get into a project you love, and you won’t stop
until it’s done
You’re passionate – just selective about your
passions

You’re A Fool

I had a disagreement with someone and gifted them with as fine an impression as anyone will ever receive of my father.

It wasn’t something I tried to do or had any plans for but I heard those three words slip out from between my lips and knew my mother and sisters heads would have spun around in surprise.

You’re…A…Fool.

It wasn’t because he used those three words but the tone, manner and gesture that accompanied it were as close to him as anyone could produce.

Call it the birthright of the oldest and only son.

It was in response to someone who said that words had no power to influence people. It might have been among the dumbest things I have ever heard.

Words are absolutely critical to influencing people to take action.

The actions that follow words impact whether said words will have power and influence on people responding again, but it is words that move people to do something.

Maybe we’ll turn to one of my favorite poets and a couple of pieces he wrote that may be lesser known to some.
