Are We Finally Going To Do This?

When you are the oldest child you discover that you have memories your siblings don’t for the obvious reasons like they are too young to remember or simply weren’t born when said events took place.

Told my middle sister that I am finally going to have a DNA test and she said that was good because whatever it shows for me will be applicable to her too.

I explained that is not possible because mom and dad found her on a porch in front of the pound or maybe it was the zoo.

That didn’t faze her so she said she wanted to hear our results. I suggested that her advanced age caused her to misunderstand things but I am certain our mother would say her eldest daughter knows how to ignore me.

Reminds me to ask mom if she has ever seen the smile my nephew gets when he sees me assume the big brother role with his mother.

Let’s face it, our children like seeing that goofy sort of stuff and the reminder that we are not only their parent but a father/mother/brother/sister just like they are too.

Don’t remember if in the prior post called The Lying Scale if I mentioned that I joined Post and am testing it as alternative to Twitter or not.

It has potential and I am curious to see how it pans out.

Are We Finally Going To Do This?

That is a question I have been asking myself for a good while now. It is tied into some other questions I have and a gut feeling about an adventure that I think is coming.

If you asked me why I believe it I could give you a list of rational and logical reasons but I choose not to present those here.

Instead I’ll say it is based upon a gut feeling and a sense that I am straddling worlds. Every time I have had this feeling certain things have happened.

I fought that for a long time because I wanted to go with the tactile, wanted to be able to say I could taste, touch and feel whatever it was.

Experience has taught me not to fight it and to just go with it.

Why push the river when you know it will flow around you regardless of what you do. Can’t dam or stop it up, so might as well hop in the boat, kayak or raft and make like Huck Finn going down the river.

Sometimes if you hang on long enough and are diligent you get the answers you have been looking for. Might not be one you like but then again it might be.

That is part of the adventure, taking a chance on an uncertain outcome. Go in with your eyes open and a willingness to pivot and adapt and see what happens.

If you don’t go in you can’t know and if you can’t know well maybe that bothers you forever. But then again if not knowing doesn’t bother you it is probably not that important to you.
