Twenty Seconds Of Courage

Something about the prior post keeps making me want to add another thousand words to it and yet I am not sure the time is write or right for that.

There is a clock inside my head that is counting down the minutes and moments before other key conversations and discussions must be had.

One might ask if they are of the sort that require 20 seconds of courage or even 20 seconds of insane courage where you set aside fear and just go for it.

For a while I wondered if that might be the case but recent conversations and events have made it clear that is not going to be the case.

Nah, those things that are coming will snap into place and things will go as they will afterwards.

That doesn’t mean they will go precisely as planned or hoped for but it doesn’t mean they won’t go as they should either.

The man/woman who doesn’t grab the brass ring as their pony circles by it may still win the race, especially if they are traveling in a standard circle.

Sometimes you play and replay certain songs because they are appropriate in multiple situations.

Cue the Boss

I said, now, this train, dreams will not be thwarted
This train, faith will be rewarded
This train, hear the steel wheels singin’
This train, bells of freedom ringin’

and from a different one of his poems, posted here and elsewhere.

I thought I knew just who I was
And what I’d do but I was wrong
One minute you’re here
Next minute you’re gone

Saw a picture of a famous actress, just a few years younger than myself walking with a cane and support from a friend because MS is beginning to ravage her body.

Saw a video of Michael J Fox fighting his way through a moment with Parkinsons and thought about how he is another example of fame and fortune not being able to save his health.

They both look happy and seem to be doing ok, can’t know precisely how they feel and whether they have moments of doubt and pain or not.

Logic says they probably do and logic says it is another reason for me to be thankful that my health is what it is even if it is not perfect.

Got some things I can do to try and improve it and I am working at it but more than anything else I am focused on living and not just passing time.

Got today and no guarantee we have tomorrow so we have take advantage of the time and moments we have.
