June would say I am ‘in a mood’ and I would tell her that she knows a great way to fix it and then several of you would ask for an explanation that you wouldn’t get.
“Get used to disappointment.”
Took me two hours and a couple of weeks to fix a coding issue on one of the other blogs.
It irks me because I think in the old days I would have solved the issue far faster but I haven’t been digging into the old WordPress crap the way I used to and the brain scan shows rust.
But I am nothing but determined about some things and like the terminator I keep coming, except I am not metal and very much human.
Though that last line is considered to be debatable by some but I lend them no credence.
The mood started the other day or 52 years ago depending upon you ask. It is why I wrote You Need Two Hands On Your Head, a piece that I think came out nicely.
Haven’t read it since the other day and won’t because I thought it was good then and why take a second look if it might spoil my mood.
I didn’t write this for you is how I would describe this post and if you think otherwise you can send me a telegram and discuss it.
Those who I do write for know where to find the material dedicated to them.
I Only Bleed For Some
Wrote something a short while ago and was told by someone that I ought to think about doing more writing because they thought it was ok.
I nodded my head and said I only bleed for some but they had no idea what I was talking about and considered it another non-sequitur.
Reminds me of a guy who used to think he was taunting and teasing me by declaring much of what I said to be a non-sequitur.
He was non plussed when I smiled at him and asked if the misunderstanding was because he wasn’t stupid enough to follow.
I didn’t stick around to see if he figured out what I was really saying, rolled his eyes, stuck his tongue out or tripped over his shoelaces.
But if you had asked I would have voted for tripping.
Did I mention that I asked someone why they weren’t wearing velcro shoes.
Yeah, I am a bad guy sometimes but I got tired of getting yelled at for something they knew I had no control over and I wanted to share my irritation.
But I wanted it to be unclear because I danced 25 feet passed a line I shouldn’t have crossed and figured it would give me time to return to safety.
Told the person who suggested I do more writing the best part of writing is when you make yourself vulnerable and receive no feedback whatsoever.
They asked me when that happened and I said it happens all the time.
“Welcome to the world of writing.”
They haven’t done any and they had no framework of reference so I don’t think they really got it.
That is ok, probably no upside to their getting it but not much of a downside either so there is that.
The World Changed Again
Things changed again on Saturday though some will tell you I have been saying it has been changing since long before that.
It is a scent in the air that I can smell, something not unlike a fire but not that of a chimney, A sea breeze far from the water and a pang in my chest.
What is coming is going to force a reckoning and reconciling of some things and that is neither good nor bad.
It simply is.
Can’t run and can’t hide so we’ll meet it head on.
Every day I have had at least one discussion about the events in Colleyville and discussed why it was antisemitism and must be identified as such.
You cannot work on fixing or improving situations if you do not properly identify them. No point in repairing or replacing a flat tire if the reason the car isn’t running is because there is no battery in it.
And with that, I am off to prepare for some new adventures.
