Don’t Read If You’re Not 5’7 Or Taller

If you don’t know how to interpret this and can’t understand that Johnny only let June think she was the boss you really shouldn’t read this.

That goes double if you are not at least 5’7 or taller.

You may ask yourself if you are trouble or if I am causing trouble.

You may ask yourself if my cologne smells good on me or if it is just animal magnetism.

And you may ask yourself why the hell are you still reading this because you don’t have a clue what I am talking about or if I am trying to press buttons.

The answer is I don’t have any control over what you choose to read or not read and if I press your buttons you’ll feel warm and fuzzy along with an electric shock and a sense that you’re experiencing magic.

Really, it is true. I would never make anything up, haven’t got the imagination for it.

The profundity of the moment is such that I cannot stay near the computer for long. Not because I am about to finish Mare of Easttown or but because too much time near my own writing will cause rays of light to shoot from my head.

Now if that doesn’t sound ridiculous I don’t know what does.

One Last Thing

Met an old friend for dinner in downtown Dallas tonight.

Sat outside and enjoyed an evening with weather that reminded me of home. It was beautiful, perfect temperature outside.

We don’t get those too frequently here.

I like the heat, I really do but it won’t be long before you’ll want mist or a fan to go along with your meal.

Couple of weeks and it will be like someone flipped the switch and turned the heat on.

Let’s hear it for vaccinations and the chance to sit outside and have a conversation. It is a nice change of pace.

And with that I am off to hit the treadmill and watch. Might do some more writing tonight, who knows, I could be inspired.

I’ll have you know that the last time I went to the doctor a few weeks ago, I asked if I had shrunk. I asked if I was 5 foot 7. The nurse looked away. I told her that according to New Jersey Motor Vehicles (my driver’s license) I’m 5 foot 9. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

    1. TheJackB – Someone complained that this page doesn’t tell you what to expect to find here in this blog so I aim to rectify this with the next line. I am a father who writes about life, parenting, business, politics and fiction. I don’t use an editorial calendar because I don’t map out what I am going to write that far in advance. The primary focus will be on things that relate to children and parenting. But the nifty thing about that is that encompasses a wide range of things. Sometimes I work with companies on their PR/Marketing efforts. If they provide products or services I will disclose it. Here is an incomplete list of companies that I am currently or have recently worked with: Nintendo, Philips Norelco, Subway, Frigidaire and Mattel. Want to know more about me, keep reading. If I wanted to provide a professional description it would looks similar to this: Jack has a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from California State University Northridge. He has been writing for print and web publications for more than twenty years, covering a wide range of topics including: business, technology, parenting, politics, education, sports and religion. That is far too serious so I prefer to use something like: The Jack B. is a writer and author of 39 unpublished books and three screenplays. A former athlete and would be superhero he still fights for truth, justice and the American Way. Though he may look like a grown man, don’t fool yourself he is still a boy at heart. When he is not engaged in Walter Mitty like fantasies he is a husband, father and friend and blogs at TheJackB. Hmm…obviously I have since moved from Random Thoughts over to this place, but that is ok. This page is a work in progress which is a good description for me. I’ll probably tweak this on a regular basis so feel free to keep checking back in because you never know what might show up. I am a prolific writer and update frequently so don’t forget to scroll down the page to see what nugget of wisdom you just might have missed. Here is a short selection of posts to get you started.
