The time is somewhere between “you’re up too late on a work night” and maybe I ought to just stay up all night and pound an extra 64 ounces of coffee” when an idea flashes through my head.
Jump on the computer and start writing like a fiend pausing to use my friend Mr. Google to do some research because I am trying to confirm the validity of the idea is based upon reality and not wishful thinking.
Spring out of the chair like a kid running towards summer on the last day of school and pump my fist because I think I did it.
Run around in circles in silent celebration so as not to wake anyone up and than collapse in a chair and think about the lessons of the pandemic.
- Tell the people you care about how you feel.
- Take steps to protect yourself and them.
- Figure out how to do some of those things you have been putting off because tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.
Turn on iTunes and post the video of the first song the shuffle.
One Step Closer
Those changes I have been sensing are one step closer than they were and damn if I am not crazy I just might have something that will be a game changer or maybe more accurately I am in the midst of one.
Except it might be bigger than I thought. It might be better and more important towards helping to achieve certain goals than I expected.
Won’t say more than that because I have a modicum of superstition and some things are better left unsaid so as to not draw the evil eye and because lower expectations lead to better outcomes…sometimes.
For the moment I’ll engage in a moment of self congratulatory behavior for having persevered and done what is required to create an opportunity.
Even if it doesn’t pan out as I hope this is bigger and better than I initially expected and that is worth celebrating.
