I Wrote You…A Letter

Hanging with Willie while I look back for a moment at the post from last night and prepare more words because they are always rowing through the rivers of my mind.

You might ask what that means or read it twice to be certain you didn’t miss anything and I might respond with I wrote you…a letter.

But that is not accurate because I wrote 10,000 and then some, maybe even recently.

What Do You See?

Sometimes people catch me staring off into space and ask me to tell them what I see and sometimes I do.

But not always.

Not everyone deserves to know what we hear, think, feel and or believe. Not everyone deserves our inner truth or cares to hear it.

I am far more circumspect about whom I share those things with than some realize. They think because I am unfiltered and willing to write about many things on these digital pages they ought to have access to everything, but they don’t.

Not all is for observation, reflection and or discussion.

Some things are kept quiet or shared with a select one or two at best.

No need for outrage. No need for discussion or introspection with those who aren’t invited within. Some secrets belong to no one but the owners.

One more day before the staycation starts and maybe a week or so before it is time to start preparing travel plans, some personal and some professional.

It is a funny thing to look back and see how many flights I was on during the first couple of months of 2020 and how I wondered when I would be able to slow down.

I wasn’t looking for a hard stop, just a slower pace that provided time to catch my breath and be present wherever I was.

Can’t say I expect things to go back exactly as they were or that I want them to but I do know I am ready for the transition into what comes next.

And it is fair to say I have regained an appreciation of some things and developed a new one for others.

Lincoln was partially right about people being as happy as they choose to be. Some of that happiness is contingent upon our collective willingness to take action and do things to improve that which doesn’t fill our hearts and feed our souls.

We aren’t trees and do not have to remain rooted in place.
