The Words Left Unspoken

There was a moment around 6:30 AM which crystallized my feelings about a couple of things and confirmed the path I started walking down is the right one.

Can’t say without question it will go as I expect or even as I hope but I am certain of a few things and sometimes that is all you need to take those first few steps.

That moment of insane courage in which you do the thing that scares you not because it is physically threatening but because it is tied in elsewhere, because you know you must find out some answers to tough questions.

Hell, the toughest moment in every physical confrontation is never getting hit but the anticipation that comes before it, that question of what might happen.

It is even harder in these other matters and it is further exacerbated by the words left unspoken in which you wonder what might have been had you said all you knew you had to say.

Timing Is A Bitch

I remember the guy who told me that timing is a bitch and you never control it the way you want to.

“Brother, they aren’t kidding when they say you always need to be prepared for opportunity. If you have something you need to say or want to do you better think about it and practice for when it might appear.

Because the smart man is always working to create that opportunity for himself and opportunity doesn’t care about timelines.

It might take a decade or two to show up giving you ample time to prepare or it might arrive two days before you realize what it is.

So you have to do the work to prepare and you have to do the work to bring it close never knowing exactly when it will arrive but trusting that it will because the most painful thing are the words left unspoken.

You know, the ones that could have changed your life and provided resolution.”
