Still On The Line

Heard this and wondered if someone took it to heart. Not entirely sure what brought that up or if was a series of things pinballing around my head.

Moved to Johnny’s cover and then back to Glen seeking for the thought that lies under the surface because I know I have almost got it.

It is there, the flame that hasn’t burned out and I can’t ignore it. That is just how it is.

Thought about it when I wrote this last night and thought about it again today during business hours because some of the stuff I have been working on is falling into place.

Too early to say it is all going to work, but damn if it isn’t coming along and if materializes as I hope I’ll be pleased and excited.

It never hurts to see hard proof there is a reward for your hard work.

And so you close your eyes and remember sometimes people start fights because when you are angry it is easier to create distance.

What May Be And What Might Not Ever Come To Be

Came across an email from 2006 I sent to a Mr. Lieber in reference to one he had sent to someone else and snorted.

Dude played with fire and got burned pretty good. He hadn’t considered how much information about him was online had played a game in which he thought he was invisible.

Very few of us are, especially if we have spent any amount of time engaging online and so we leave many digital footprints.

I know both sides of it from experience, some leading to hard lessons but all providing an education.

Had a business lunch today that reminded me sometimes we forget that even if time moves no faster now than it ever has its steady and relentless pace has moved us farther along.

As we exchanged some relevant stories I realized one took place before two thirds of the others at the table were born.

I was midway through it when the revelation came over me but I kept going because it was relevant and useful.

Still it threw me for a moment because yesterday I was the kid listening to the older guy talk about experiences they had.

And it reminded me yet again to stay focused on taking steps to work on some of the important dreams and goals of this time of life.

If I put them off and or ignore them it will be far too easy to wake up one day and say they are impossible because the opportunity is no longer there.

I won’t be shamed or dissuaded. I’ll get my answers and figure it out or fail trying and at least I can rest knowing I tried.

Chanukah starts in a few days and more than a few people have asked me how I feel about it starting early.

I provide the same answer as always, it starts on the 25th of the Hebrew month of Kislev so it is right on time. This is what happens when you use a lunar calendar.

This year I plan on returning to the Chabad menorah lighting in Southlake. I like offering support when and where I can. I’ll probably see a few familiar faces, or at least eyes I recognize if they wear masks.

Can’t say I have returned to a normal life but it is probably as close as it gets for now. Starting to make plans to get back on airplanes and already traveling around the cities in the current state of my abode.

I can sense more changes coming at rapid pace and expect that within a couple of years if not less there will be some big moves.

Time will tell.
