The Blind Man’s Heart

There are those who called the blind man a fool, stupid and or ignorant because of his actions.

They said it wouldn’t matter if his vision was functional because he would still make foolish choices but he never listened to them.

One day someone asked for an explanation, “you don’t know the blind man’s heart. It was ripped out, regrown and ripped out again but I think it might be growing one more time.”

They told him they were certain the blind man liked pain and that his actions proved it.

“Maybe I see what you cannot. Maybe date night is a front, a farce and a fake or maybe I really am dumb. Why do you care.”

Moments passed and there was no answer but the blind man continued to listen and wait for one until he finally realized the voice he had been arguing with was his own.

Two Drinks On a Saturday Night

Popped open a Mike’s Hard Lemonade to have with dinner while we watched the ball game and realized it was going to be a two drink night.

The Dodgers came this close to forcing a game seven but ultimately lost to Atlanta and maybe that is a good thing.

They didn’t lose to a superior team. They lost to a team that executed better than they did and made fewer mistakes.

They lost to a team that didn’t have as hard a schedule and wasn’t as beat up, worn down and peppered with injuries as they were.

But none of those things matter in the end because the team that wins four games first wins the series.

And now a hungry Braves team will take on the Astros, you know the team that is reviled for their cheating several years ago. The team that beat the Dodgers in a seven game series which made all Dodgers fans shake our heads because you know if they had to cheat to take it to a seven games series we probably would have won.

Probably being the operative word but reality dictates we acknowledge that we didn’t win and that probably doesn’t magically change the outcome.

So I poured myself some Macallan 12 and sat down here to write a few thoughts down.

Played around with expanding upon the post from last night but chose not to though I may write elsewhere.

Irritated about a few things though I probably shouldn’t be but I probably shouldn’t a lot of things.

Sometimes you feel what you feel regardless of whether it is logical, rational or useful.

Some hands have to be played all the way through. Those that care will be there or realize they missed their opportunity and those that don’t care don’t get any consideration at all.

No time to waste upon them and theirs.
