The Posts You Don’t Read

The doc sent over copies of my lab work and it confirmed what we already knew…I am dying.

They didn’t provide a solid time frame so we can guess about whether it is 50, 39 or 3 years. But the suggestion is that if I do nothing that number could be smaller than we might like.

It also suggested that if I take effective action it could be extended and decades are the likely outcome.

We also determined I need to go see a specialist to check on one thing. I am not particularly worried about any of this.

However I did ask if instead of watching what I eat I might be able to schedule a fist fight with the angel of death.

If I win he agrees to stay away for decades and if I lose he agrees to stay away anyhow because I won’t lose. I am relentless in some areas.

It is just how I am and if people don’t like it they can let go and go away. Love me or don’t.

Anyhoo someone asked about the posts I write elsewhere and I said the posts you don’t read are for someone else.

“Do they read them?”

“Maybe.”

“Don’t you know?”

“I know many things and sometimes they get/don’t get read.

Another Car

Spent a chunk of time texting and emailing dealers about cars because of this Delta nonsense.

Had to make sure I provided my daughter with a way to get to and from school that didn’t involve a bus and provided a refuge for lunch.

It is not a perfect situation and it may not do what I hope but then again it might.

Those last two words are important, “it might.”

Have to do/try something to help protect her even if it is minimal. We’re in the time where some decisions are more challenging because it is impossible not to get caught in the what ifs and shades of gray.

I think it is going to be a bumpy ride for a bit but I expect we’ll get past the current chaos.

One day I’ll stand on a beach and enjoy a vacation and who knows who will be privileged to stand next to me or maybe I’ll be privileged to stand next to them.

Point is the plan is to do what I can to manage this and get by it.

Plan is to live a life and pursue dreams with purpose and intensity. Some don’t happen unless you work to make them do so.

Here is hoping the interim is as pain free as possible and that we have the good surprises and not the bad ones.

And should I not wake up one day may it happen after a time where I can attest to having had another 150 amazing adventures.

In the interim between non and then I am just a man trying to do the best he can in a sometimes crazy mixed up world.

Submit.
