Climb Your Coven Tree

When they ask about the ballad of Spanky Redcheeks and the Climb Your Coven Tree I’ll tell them they ought to ask Cleveland Bill about his membership as president of the Earl Warren Fan club.

That’s a virtual lock on being viewed as authentic frontier gibberish by some and I’ll probably let them live with it because the girl who knows all doesn’t read all very often anymore.

Probably cuz it is too easy to get drawn into addiction and the land of crazy not that it is so bad there because even she would admit it is damn fun and it soothes the soul.

So let’s provide a link to the post from last night and say it might provide insight into some things but make no promises.

I Have Worn A Mask For 18 Years

The people online tell me I ought not tell them about masks being comfortable because they know better.

Except I have worn a mask for about 18 years now so I know things they don’t know and have experiences they don’t have.

This is considered by some to be a very effective way to argue a position online.

You tell people that you know experts and that those experts support whatever position/narrative you hold and expect them to agree or be labeled as stupid.

Cue the first and second Springsteen songs.

****

Dopey guy tells me faith will get him through the pandemic so I ask him if he has ever read about any biblical disasters.

“Sure, of course.”

“Got lots of examples of people who didn’t make it. Not everyone was Noah, or Daniel. The flood got a bunch, some didn’t get into the promised land and tons of others drowned or died in horrible ways. Get vaccinated and hedge your bets. The Big Blue Dodger in the sky won’t mind.”

I am certain he’ll ignore me as he said his faith covered him but maybe he’ll prove me wrong.

Don’t hate me for saying this, but I am certain Delta is going to ravage a bunch of people and not in a good way.

This won’t be some Southern belle inviting you to ravish her body. Nah, this will be the mafia goon who breaks your fingers and legs for not paying back the money you owe.

Many won’t get worked over as badly because they will have been vaccinated or have some sort of natural immunity. It happens.

There are always people who can smoke and drink and eat whatever without having to worry about living a shorter life. They exist but they are the exception and not the rule.

I push buttons and I push limits. I test life and people all the damn time and more often than not I make it work.

But I am quite cognizant of not testing certain things because I don’t need to find out if I am as good at figuring out how to beat/survive XYZ as everything else.

Not worth the trouble and if you are wrong the consequences are huge.

Anyhoo, if they offer boosters I’ll get one as I believe in science and medicine.

Cue music.

Great Googly Moogly

My baby girl is a senior in high school and damn if that doesn’t blow my mind.

I remember the day she was born as if it was yesterday…maybe it was.

Just looked in the mirror, I am wrong, wasn’t yesterday. Damn if I could be delusional enough to believe that I would be less concerned, amazed and shocked.

Here is hoping her vaccine, mask and common sense beat back the idiots in the Texas death cult who push personal responsibility as an excuse for being selfish baboons who think acting like an ass is cool.

I can name a dozen people who have had Covid and a few of them aren’t here anymore.

Told some of the death cult I don’t live in fear and that suggesting I must because I believe in precautions is how the willfully blind and dumb ignore their own stupidity.

I have a long list of stupid things that I have done that prove I don’t live in fear and that sometimes I have acted like an idiot.

Makes for some good stories now but those good stories wouldn’t be told if I was dead or crippled so there is that.

Anyhoo, I have prattled on enough here and have to go because there is trouble to cause elsewhere and sometimes you must answer the call to write posts that aren’t just G, PG, R or X.

Woohoo.

How the hell can she be a senior.

Fuck, I must really be close to middle age now. What a crazy world.
