A Dose Of Reality

Got a dose of reality when I had occasion to ask my daughter if she was familiar with a particular Cardi B song and she said yes.

“Do you know all of the words?”

She rolled her eyes at me and said something about my recognizing her age and I nodded my head and walked away.

Shouldn’t be surprised because she is as curious about life as her father and she carries a computer in her pocket that is always available to answer questions.

Sometimes I am surprised Siri doesn’t call me Abba or ask me for car keys because she is a regular visitor here.

Lately Siri has been assisting Consumer Reports in providing information about cars and I get the sense that I ought figure out how much auto insurance will go up if there is yet another vehicle here.

Got to give her credit because she has worked hard to help fund the coming endeavor and her grades are better than mine were.

Don’t ask her about that because she’ll tell you I think grades are a useless measure of ability and of no real consequence.

I don’t comment on it because I don’t want her to feel badly about it, I respect the effort but I have more interest in education than in grades for it.

Bullwinkle Almost Died

You might find the story about how Bullwinkle almost died to be interesting. You might want to know about how I told him I am five times as dangerous as Boris and 35 times as deadly as Natasha.

Old Bullwinkle kept coming and I told him if he didn’t me to punch him in his nose shove those antlers where the sun don’t shine to sit the fuck down.

As you can see it worked.

Why?

Because I know things and if you are not ready to submit and accept it you might miss out on experiences that will make your point and your whole body tingle.

Don’t mess with me, I am not playing.

Too damn tired. Too damn cranky. Too damn everything.

Not sure how I got here and not entirely sure how I get out of it but it might mean tearing down a couple of walls and running full speed under a moon lit sky with reckless abandon.

Cuz sometimes the Queen mother likes what you write and you laugh cuz it is more than fate, more than coincidence and more than funny.

For now I write stories and plot out future possibilities, a new day is coming.
