I See That You’re Busy

Haven’t left Texas in forever but I have driven about 1,000 miles during the last 10 days or so.

Much of it was business related but a portion was nothing more than me escaping from the house to clear my head and see the sights.

Very little of it involved in person interaction, most was just the car, Sirius and a book or two on tape.

Call it a blend of zoning out and active stimulation of my mind.

Found myself in the middle of a conversation about education and made both sides crazy.

The one told me I am crazy to push for a college education and the other was upset when I said grades and test scores are useless.

If either had really been interested in dialogue I could have presented my case but like so many things now they were more interested in making a statement than having a conversation.

Drive Until Driven

A smart guy took a poke at me, “I see that you are busy” thinking that would burn a bit.

I smiled at him and nodded my head. Let him think he got me, let him think playing the bully is effective.

Sometimes it is best to let others do and think as they will while you lay the foundation for your own success.

I tell the kids to work smarter and not harder but qualify it by reminding them that doesn’t mean you don’t have to build a foundation.

That is what now is about, setting up processes and mechanisms that function as a motor that doesn’t require constant attention.

Got an idea, got a plan and an objective that I am working on.
