Don’t ask me why I pictured Mr. & Mrs. Howell debating what to wear to a coup or ask me why they had so many clothes with them on a three hour tour because I don’t know.
There was a moment today when things first got ugly that it made me think of this scene from 300 and how my understanding of how it related to today was undoubtedly different than the terrorists who swarmed the Capitol.
I was angry, dismayed, disappointed and disturbed by it.
And as I flipped between work emails, the TV and various online news reports trying to make sense of what I was seeing Iooked for various ways to center myself because I knew others would pay attention to how I responded.
I thought of one of my favorite speeches and how you don’t need to be familiar with the characters or backstory to appreciate it because the message just works.
180 Degrees
Got a million more things to share, say and comment upon today but just haven’t the desire to give it any more energy today.
So we’ll throw in a a quote from Brother Pablo that is a 180 degrees different and maybe prepare to write about other things elsewhere.
More colorful, more interesting and more good kinds of trouble because there is two more weeks of this nonsense and we may have to buckle up and buckle down to get through it.
Maybe I am lucky I got the new mask, filter and tubing today. Maybe that provides the tools for a deeper and better kind of rest.
Maybe it provides the sort of rest I am looking for, or at least something closer than what I have had.
Not sure, don’t know and can’t tell just yet, but soon.
Hoping it does because a significant challenge was laid upon my shoulders and now I have to focus upon finding a solution.
Can’t go with the Queen’s gambit here because it won’t work for this, but there might be a variation or two that I can rely upon.
Maybe.
