A Familiar Kiss- Testing Science

Decided it was time to try a new look for the blog and started messing around with themes and code for a moment it was like a familiar kiss, a science experiment to prove that some connections never die.

And here I am after an hour of messing around with a blog I have broken, fixed, broken and repaired.

I don’t think it is quite right, not quite what I am looking for but I don’t have it within me tonight to go for much longer to make the adjustments that it requires.

Perhaps if I had something major tied into it I would take a different approach and be certain it was perfect or damn close to it, but not tonight.

It provides the comfort and excitement of a familiar shmata and that is enough for this evening.

Won’t hurt to let it sit for an evening while I consider what changes need to be made for me to be satisfied with this look.

Brother Pablo & I Speak

Brother Pablo and I were engaged in a deep conversation about life and the meaning of the universe when he told me about someone he lived with who kept very different hours.

“I am up at all hours of the night and given the chance I will usually try to sleep in. It is my favorite way to live, but once I was joined by someone who would go to bed long before the moon rose and woke up before the sun.

I think it is tied into why we never worked as we should.

Our internal clocks were out of sync.”

I smiled at Brother Pablo and shared his words with him as a reminder that I understood magic.

“As if you were on fire from within.

The moon lives in the lining of your skin.”
― Pablo Neruda

Brother Pablo asked me what I understood it to mean and I said some people smell like home.

“You dip your head into their neck and inhale. Some call it pheromones and some call it magic. For a moment all can be right in both the secret and the real world.

Clocks that are out of sync are but a symptom and sign of why some never connect in this fashion.”

Brother Pablo smiles and says I will once again know such things because the universe has declared it to be so.

Together we raise our bottles, clink them together and say “may it be so.”

Are You Picking A Fight?

Had a few people come at me in ways that made me ask, “are you picking a fight?”

Ok, I didn’t ask any of them because I was certain one was doing so because that is a way to create distance and I refused to engage.

Didn’t say a word about any of it, just ignored it.

Now the others that came, well I confess that I didn’t ignore, I engaged and I went hard.

That tends to be how it goes, I ignore or come in guns blazing ready to go until I feel satisfied I am done. I have told my children to remember this as a life lesson.

If you get involved in a fight with someone you can’t be certain it will end when you decide you are done so if you are going to fight you need to be aware and prepared.

****

Had a conversation around 1:30 or so with a few people who said I couldn’t do certain things but never did explain why though I asked.

I concluded their reason wasn’t based upon anything other than their own lack of comfort and in so many things that is not enough to prevent me from feeling like there is reason not to try.

We ought not to wear sweaters just because someone else is cold, especially if not doing so provides no risk or issue.

And that brings us to our final comment for this particular post. It is time to wrap things up and consider whether this is a good luck for us or not.

No decisions tonight, morning will come soon enough.
