Dare To Be Stupid Meets…Someone

I am sitting at my own private bar listening to Adele sing Hello.

Make of that what you will and consider whether the lyrics are applicable to others or just some person singing a song to their reflection.

I should be packing a bag preparing for an early morning flight but instead I am wondering if I ought to insert Eric Carmen into this post.

Ready, I’ll start slow and build towards really belting it out. To quote my grandfather, I might not sing good, but I sing loud.

When I was young
I never needed anyone
And makin’ love was just for fun
Those days are gone
Livin’ alone
I think of all the friends I’ve known
But when I dial the telephone
Nobody’s home
All by myself
Don’t want to be, all by myself anymore
All by myself

A World Of Clowns And Jokers

I had the most peculiar dream the other night in which the big lug in the picture above came to visit me, but he didn’t come alone.

He came along with his little brother and the three of us went for a run.

Just to clarify, you had one giant dog who made like Frume Sarah and came from beyond the grave,  the little brother dog who currently lives in LA but is moving to Texas and me.

Did I mention that they struggled to keep up with me?

Kind of funny because even at my best their four legs should have outmatched anything my two could do, but the beauty of dreams is that anything is possible.

Oh, I forgot to mention one thing.

They talked.

Yeah, I ran faster than my dead dog and the current live one and had great fun talking with them about life after our run was done.

Again, it was a dream and anything is possible in dreamland, especially if you have an imagination like mine.

Those fur balls reminded me again how you cannot out love or out loyal a dog, simply awesome.

Back in reality Stealers Wheel is singing Stuck in the Middle With You and I am here to tell you that song speaks truth to power.

It is not even the part about clowns and jokers either.

Trying to make some sense of it all,
But I can see it makes no sense at all

The English Teacher

You might be shocked to hear I disagreed with a teacher or two and that I said I wasn’t convinced  that writers packed their stories with symbols and hidden meanings.

I said sometimes a rose was nothing more than a rose and a lion was just a lion. Sometimes they agreed and sometimes they said I was dead wrong.

I promised to write some crazy gibberish one day in the hope that that some crazy English teacher would try to come up with some hidden meaning.

So let me tell you now that if ever you hear/read someone’s analysis of the dream with my dogs and say it is anything but a dream they are wrong.

That is all it was, just me spending time with my dogs…nothing more.

And then ask the teacher to pour you a beer from the picture at the top of this post because you’ll have earned it for putting up with their nonsense.

It’s like love, it doesn’t make any fucking sense at all. There is no rhyme or reason to it.

Sometimes you trip over love and after a while you pick yourself up and dust off your pants and realize you got lost for a little bit.

And other times you realize it wouldn’t matter if someone gave you a GPS that told you how to get out of the labyrinth you were walking in because you’re never going to get out of that place.

That might not be such a bad thing either, especially if you are a dog, but I digress.

Write To Write

I am writing to write now because it is far more enjoyable than packing but I fear time is short so in a few moments I’ll put my keyboard aside and make sure my suit jacket, shirt and pants are safely ensconced inside my bag.

Would be a rough meeting if I showed up in shorts and a t-shirt because everyone knows the suit provides power.

Anyhoo, the horse in the picture doesn’t have a name but I do believe he is up for an adventure and I should like to ride him through the desert.

With that I bid you adieu and if we should meet again we shall share fine tales of adventure and joy because if you are not having fun you are not really living.
